Welcome to Kreations with Kris

This is my blog where I can show off my scrapbooking kreations! I love to use sketches and scrapping with the supplies I already have (which is way too much!).

If you look at old posts, you may notice that I use to run a scrapbooking business out of my home. My life became just too busy and now I enjoy scrapping for myself!

Sketches and Scraplifting
What are sketches and what is scraplifitng you may ask? Sketches are drawings of plans for a layout. Most of the time they note how many photos will fit on the page. Scraplifting is when you see a layout - either in a magazine or someone else's work and you "copy" it. You can either use the same products or use different products. In my opinion, if you are scraplifting someone else's work in person - you should always ask permisssion. Those of you who attend my Krops know we are always scraplifting each other's work - and it is a practice that we love to do!
Where to start? Well, Becky Higgins has written several books on sketches (Creative Sketches and Creative Sketches volume 2) which are organized by the number photos on the layout. So if you have 8 photos - just go to that section and see it there is a "sketch" that will work for your pictures. I have both these books available at my Kris' Krops for you to use! There are numerous websites that have sketches - look on the panel to left for them.
For scraplifting - just look through scrapbooking magazines and tear away! I rip out the ones I like and save them in a notebook. The notebook is available to browse at my Kris' Krops - just ask!
Why should you rack your brain trying to come up with an original design when there are so many designs right in front of you. Using a sketch or scraplifting can make your scrapbooking quick and easy! So give it a try!
In Conclusion
Make a twist on your usual New Year's Resolutions and have scrapbooking help you out!
