My Craft Room - Part 2

Sorry that more than a day has passed but here is the second part about my craft room. The next picture shows my penisula which is directly behind my computer area. This way I can just spin around in my chair and use my work space. This is where I do my scrapbooking. I have purchased a large cutting mat (36"x 24") to place on the workspace. Against the wall are my little drawers that contain embellishments. I have divided them according to themes (like the papers and stickers), but there are also drawers for simple items like brads, hearts, paperclips, buttons, etc.

Also on the penisula are my Sizzix machines. This is an older photo and only shows one but in the next photo you will see that I now have 2.

On the other side of the penisula you will see my cubby. Next to the cubby is my printer stand which holds my photo printer, inkjet printer and my Pazzles cutter.

In the cubby are shelves where I store my Sizzix dies, stamps, Xyrons and other equipment. On the top shelf is my tv (including the capability to tivo all my favorite shows).

The next photo shows the rest of the 3rd wall. Against this wall is a bookcase which holds Cropper Hopper folders full of cardstock for my crops. There are also magazine holders with scrapbooking magazines and idea books. I also keep a notebook with layouts I like. Next to the bookcase is my paper rack for the papers I sell. I also have some decorative signs that I made for the room as well as a clock.

Now for the last wall! Behind the door are my ribbon racks with ribbon that I sell at my crops. I also have an over the door storage rack for my punches and more stamps.

I have a small recliner chair in my room so members of my family are comfortable while they visit me in my room. Above the chair are some decorative shelves where I display some of my projects that I have made.

That is my room otherwise known as my little sanctuary! The cabinets were bought and installed at/by Lowe's. My designer was Leann Abel who is also one of best customers. I highly recommend her!

I hope you have picked up some useful information by looking at my room. I am a bit of organizing nut so things are very well organized. I just can't work in a disorganized space.

My Craft Room - Part 1

I was challenged to post pictures of my craft room on my website. So if you haven't had the pleasure of attending one of my crops or classes then you haven't seen my craft room. It was a tandem garage that was an option on the model of our house to be an extra room. So we decided to go ahead and make it a craft room. My supplies were overwhelming my husband's office so it was time to move me out!


The first photo is the wall that you face when you walk into my room. This is a tall cabinet that is great for storage.
















































The next photo is to the left of the cabinet. This is a countertop that is used as either a workplace or where I set up my sewing machines when I sew. Yes I also sew as well as scrapbook and other crafts. Sewing is actually my first hobby that I was very passionate about. I have recently starting getting back to sewing - doing some home dec projects, clothes for the kids and of course some mending. This also shows the window in my room and my desk. My desk is in the corner of the room which is very convient for me - I can roll to any of the work spaces in my room.




















This next photo shows more of my desk and the cabinets above it. This is where I store and organize my personal scrapbooking supplies. I love the Cropper Hopper vertical files. On the lower shelf I store my cardstock and pattern paper in the vertical files. On the shelf above, I either use the vertical files or the smaller organizers to seperate my supplies into categories. Examples are birthday, Christmas/Winter, Autumn/Halloween/Thanksgiving, Sports, Spring, Easter - you get the idea. In those files I have papers, stickers and other flat items that are those themes. That way when I am scrapbooking some birthday pages - I just pull out the Birthday file. Here is a detail of those organizers:

Kreations with Kris' July Newsletter

Hi Scrappers!
We survived our 2500 mile roadtrip throughout the Southwest! It was a lot of fun. We started with a night in Las Vegas and then headed to Zion National Park (Utah) where we tent camped for 3 nights! This was a first for the kids and they just loved it! Hubby and I of course missed the air conditioning (in the 100 degree heat) and our soft beds. We did some hiking while we were there and made a day trip to Bryce National Park. These parks are beautiful and amazing. I recommend making stops to them - even if it is just a short one. Then we made a quick stop at the Grand Canyon before heading out to Santa Fe for a couple of nights. Along the way we stopped at the Petrified National Forest and Painted Desert.

It was a great trip for our family and I took a ton of pictures - haven't even downloaded them off the camera yet. So I will have plenty to scrapbook - whenever I get around to these pictures - keep in mind I am running about 3 years behind in my scrapping! One helpful hint to pass along to you - I journaled every day of our trip so I will remember what we did and when. I am keeping that journaling and any other papers/souvenouirs in a file folder so it is all together when I actually do sit down to scrapbook them.
Sorry I have seemed to rambled in my introduction but many of you were wondering where I was and what I was up to. I hope you enjoy my newsletter - I am going with a Christmas in July theme. Perhaps since most of us are hanging around for the summer - we can get a jumpstart on our holiday crafting - or use the scrapbook layout to scrap pages from 3 years ago!
