This is one of the calendars that I made for Christmas gifts. I have made 5 of them. I hope they like them!

Flamingos!

This post is for my Scrapper Talk friend Cheri - she wanted to see my flamingos!

My Craft Room - Pt 2

Ok got the next load of laundry in the washer so here is the rest :)

Behind my desk (on the other side) is my wire rolling cart that I bought at Lowe's. The top rack holds my Epson photo printer and the next shelf holds my Cricut. They are both covered with the pillow cases from the flamingo sheet set :) The bottom rack holds a container with all my flowers and a very old Xyron - once this thing runs out of stuff or dies then I am getting a new one - it was my very first scrapbooking tool I bought! There really should be a printer/scanner here but it died and it is suppose to be replaced next month (unless something else comes up...).

Now I should give a background on what this room ws first - it was the back part of a tandem garage. We had it converted into another room in the house (which ws an option for the floor plan but the previous owners didn't do it). So that helps to explain the next part of the room. Which is a cubby - it was designed to be a closet but I didn't want one. Instead we made it a cubby with shelves to store more stuf (of course!). The top shelf hold my tv (which every scrapper needs!). The other shelves hold my Sizzix dies which I am storing in these great white boxes I found at Walmart. I also have 3 drawer boxes that hold other stuff like other stamp pads, acrylic blocks, ribbon iron, chalks, etc.Then there are big blue boxes on the floor that hold vertical files. In one of the big blue boxes are kits that I have bought and haven't used yet and the other I have letter stickers sorted by color. There is other stuff on the shelves too - like other craft flowers, EK Success circle,oval and square cutters, a roll of poster paper, big paper cutter (that I don't use much).

As you continue to the left, on the floor is my box of cardstock scraps and yes I do use them a lot. That is why they are left out. To the left of that is my bookcase from Ikea (which I wish I could buy another but I think they don't make it anymore - boohoo). It fits the Cropper Hopper folders but I had to cut them off a tad. The bottom shelf has all my carstock assorted as to color. The top shelf holds my tackle box (Walmart) that holds embellishments such as brads, buttons, etc. It is easy to grab for a crop. There are some more of those 3 drawers boxes that hold extras of stuff like adhesive, pens - mainly stuff left over from my business. On top of the bookcase is an organizer that I use to store stickers but have re-used to store my border punches, crimper, and some other misc stuff. In the white box are those roller stamps with different sayings and date stamps.

The wall above this is another work in progress. I want to put more shelves (like some others in the room which I will show you in a bit) but I got them at Ikea and I haven't been able to get there and look for them. For now it has a layout I did a long time ago and some of those TLC sayings on canvas that I painted to coordinate with the room.

Behind my door is a punch pal organizer that are no longer made (actually 2 of them). I store my punches inthere and some of my stamps. Above that is a clock I made to coordinate with the metal bulletin board. To left of that are my ribbon racks. They are simply cafe rod holders drilled into the wall and I bought wooden dowel rods cut to the length I need. I just slide the ribbon spools on them and let them rest on the cafe rod things. Simple and easy to use. I have also added more as I need them.

The rest of the wall has these great Ikea shelves on them where I have put various projects, a pic of me jumping my horse last year at a show, pics of my kids, and old cruise menu that I found in an antique store - it was too cool and had to buy it! Oh and one of my 3 Goldens insisted on getting in the picture!

Stay tuned there is more to come - about some of the details.. but first need to make lunch for DD - she got her braces tightened and I promised I make her some soup and grill cheese and bring it to school for her :)

My Craft Room - Pt 1

Welcome to my craft room! This is the view from the door - you see my recliner that I have in my room for my family to come visit, my cat to sleep on or just another place to put my junk! It is covered with a sheet set that I bought at Target a few years ago that was just soo kitchy with the flamingos on it. I used to have my own scrapbooking business having crops and classes in my home. I used these as tablecloths for my selling tables. You'll notice that I use the pillowcases as covers for my printer and cricut.

I not only scrap in this room but sew and do all the other office type stuff in here. It is my room :) In this cabinet are all kinds of stuff - sewing supplies, craft supplies, I have a 12x12 3 drawer box in there that I keep stuff for cardmaking. I also have a large Memor-EZ bag for some of my ribbon.

Then I have a big window which gets great morning light and not so much afternoon - which is good here in Southern CA - it gets really hot on the other side of the house in the summer. Along this side of the countertop are my sewing machines. The shelf above the window holds my collection of buttons - mainly old ones I collected when I was younger but some are newer ones. I also have my collection of ribbons that I have won from horseshows I have competed in. Tucked up in there you will see some flamingos :)

As you keep turning left, then you will see my desk. My computer is in the corner and then behind the chair is the L part of my desk.

I have a metal bulletin board that I made when I was with Leaving Prints that I keep stuff on - a picture my DD made, a magazine article I liked, fortune cookie messages, phone numbers - you know fun stuff :) I also have a tilt box organizer (bought on QVC) that I put chipboard letters and other bulky letters in. I also use one of those Pampered Chef's carousels for my pens, rulers and scissors. Also notice the flamingo tissue box holder that i found at a thrift store and just had to buy for the room!

To the left of that are 2 of those little drawer units that you buy at hardware stores. I have misc embellishments stored in here. They are categorized by themes and types. For example - zoo, beach, beads, glitter, paper clips, slides covers, sports. In the clear basket in the front are glitter mist, ink pads, stickles and etc. The slot to right of the gray bins I keep an organizer box with my chalk inks, big red (my atg gun) and usually any projects that I am working on. This is a work in progress because I liked the idea that Polly had with the tool box. I have to look for it and maybe re-organize some of this - it is a bit cluttered.

On the L of the desk is my main workspace. I have an Ott-like lamp, a big cutting mat and these 2 great Basic Grey magnetic precision mats. I had thought about the FRED but I saw someone at a crop with these and I fell in love. I think they work just like the FRED but lay flat on the table - which is what I like. At the end of the L is my Sizzix Big Kick and an organizer with a bunch of tools. Most of my stuff is there and it is easy to grab for a crop.

The cabinet above my head has my Cricut cartridges (I don't have a lot ...yet) and my small collection of 8 1/2x11 cardstock. Tucked up there is a box of misc stuff that I am not sure where to file and what to do with :) The shelves to the left have pattern paper on the bottom shelf in Cropper Hopper boxes. I sort mine as to color and some are sorted as to collections (Scenic Route, those paper pads, etc). The shelf on top has more Cropper Hopper files with patterned paper, stickers, etc sorted into themes - such as summer, fall, Christmas, Easter, birthday, family, camping,zoo, pets, etc. On the bottom shelf to left of those are notebooks with layouts I like, sketches, Got Sketch class notes, etc. There also extra Cropper Hopper boxes and files. On the top shelf are unused albums, and Cropper Hopper boxes with finished layouts waiting to go into albums.

More Pages!

Here is my layout (with 2 copies for the grandparents) that I have completed today.

I used the 2nd sketch from my Sketch 105 class.

I am also participating in the "Around the Corner Cyber Crop" on Scrapbook Addict. These are the first 3 layouts for the crop.

And for the 28 layouts in 28 days of February - I now have completed a total of 39 pages!

You'll notice on the 2 copies that I changed the title. It was an idea that came to me after I finished the first one so I went with it on the 2 copies!

Sketch 105 Class pages

This is my first layout made from my Sketch 105 class. I turned a single layout into a double layout. I struggled with the embellishments for awhile adn am still not totally in love with them. I may add more later but this is it for now.
Also this makes 38 pages for the month!

6 More Pages for the Month!

I finished 6 more pages for the 28 in 28 days challenge! That makes a total of 36 pages - woohoo!
This was from my daughter's forst Daddy Daughter dance that her and her dad attended back in April of 2007. I had this Quick Quotes kit which I thought was just perfect for these pictures - very frilly and girly.  I used my Jasmine cartridge on my Cricut to cut the title. I like how they turned out!

Layout Challenge is complete!

I attended the Love Me Tender Crop at Remember When Scrapbooking in Valencia on the Saturday Feb. 13th and had a lot of fun! I scrapped a bunch and here is my proof of what I did! I scrapbook in 3's so yes most of these are copies of layouts I designed earlier.

 

So that makes 30 pages! I have officially completed the challenge - woohoo! But I am still going to see just how much I can do in 28 days - so stay tune to find out!

Cards for Soldiers

I made some cards out of the leftovers from some of my layouts. I am slow at posting these - I actually made them on Feb. 10th. I have just been too busy to post them! I made a variety of "Best Wishes" and birthday cards. I am going to send them to Operation Write Home (http://www.operationwritehome.org/  ) when I have a bigger collection. they send them to soldiers for them to send them to their loved ones. I feel this way my scraps aren't collecting dust and will be put them to good use.

Page #8!

Here is my 8th page for the 28 page (layout) challenge! I did nothing fancy for these pictures from my son's Spring show school performance 3 years ago. The funny thing - I used some really old supplies I had in my stash. I had some bug supplies from a Scrap in a Snap show - probably one of my first purchases as a scrapbooker! It feels good to use up some of my stash (and make room for new stuff!).
